Our Legacy and Mission

Since its establishment in 1976, the Mu Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has been a beacon of hope and progress in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded by a visionary group of brothers, our chapter is committed to the fraternity’s core values of mentorship, scholarship, leadership, and service. We strive to uplift and empower the local community through various initiatives and programs, continuing the proud legacy of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

1976

Founding of Mu Theta Lambda

The Mu Theta Lambda Chapter was established by nine dedicated brothers, marking the beginning of a new era of service and leadership in Providence.

1980

First Scholarship Program Launched

Initiated our first scholarship program to support local high school students in pursuing higher education.

1990

Community Mentorship Initiative

Launched a mentorship program aimed at guiding young men in the community towards academic and personal success.

2005

30th Anniversary Celebration
